Robert Rothstein, MD, served as Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA) at Suburban Hospital/Johns Hopkins Medicine from 2010-2016. Prior to that, Dr. Rothstein served as Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Suburban Hospital since 1986. During his tenure at Suburban, he took an active leadership role in many important clinical initiatives including disaster preparedness and provider quality and as a physician advisor for outcomes management. Prior to coming to Suburban, Dr. Rothstein served as Residency Director and Associate Director of the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago and as Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Rothstein received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, was a Director for the American Board of Emergency Medicine, served on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Annals of Emergency Medicine in addition to publishing articles, chapters, and reviews in a variety of medical journals over his long career as an emergency physician.
